DIF Trains Companies in Prevention and Detection of Child Abuse and Harassment

Employees of the McDonald’s Plaza Marina received a presentation through the Child Protection Directorate.

 

The Puerto Vallarta DIF System maintains a close relationship with various local educational institutions and companies, to provide information on the prevention of child abuse, sexual abuse, and school bullying. On this occasion, through the Directorate for Child Protection, an informative talk was held for employees of the McDonald’s food chain.

Topics such as "Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and School Bullying" were addressed, taught by the coordinator of the Child Sexual Abuse program, Laura Veles and the psychologist Eduardo Sánchez. This in order to teach the employees how to avoid the risks of abuse, how to detect asbuse, and to know the instances in which they can request support if necessary. 

It should be noted that the Child Protection Directorate has different preventive programs to provide care for girls, boys, and young adults, in the areas of ​​addiction, abuse, preventions, child labor, prevention of teenage pregnancy, and others.

Jalisco Health Services also have specialized violence prevention and care programs for adolescents. Specialists from the Jalisco Health Secretariat, through the Gender Violence program of OPD Health Services, promote prevention and early identification of signs of violence. The Gender Violence program provides care and rehabilitation for victims of sexual violence, prevention of dating violence and sexual violence at the community level, and re-education for male generators of violence and female victims of violence. 

Violence is the use of force or physical power, fact or threat, against oneself, another person, a group or community, which can cause injury, death, psychological damage, developmental disorders, or deprivation, according to the World Health Organization; and it is a violation of human rights.
