Municipal Government Joins with Residents to Restore Paso Ancho Park

In order to have a dignified and safe public space for the healthy recreation of families, the municipal government joined residents and businessmen to restore the Paso Ancho Park.

The intention is to change the image of the park and the fields, and on the walls surrounding the square, urban artists will paint murals of positive messages on health, sports, and culture.

Luis Martín Gómez Gómez, president of the neighborhood, reported that due to the poor condition of the children's playground equipment, as well as the bad image of the neighborhood park, the neighbors joined together to undertake some actions that would contribute to dignify this space, making it a safer and more pleasant place for everyone.

In that sense, he stated that all the playground equipment was maintained, some ramps were built, the benches will be rehabilitated, in addition to planting various plants to give the neighborhood park an improved image.

Likewise, he pointed out that in the walls surrounding the court, they will seek to have positive images for girls, boys, and young people in matters of health, culture, and sports, keeping them away from harmful habits. He added that one of these walls is designed in honor of the Vallarta athlete Floralia Estrada Bernal, a neighbor of the colony and who is currently in Japan to compete.

He thanked the municipal government for support, not only in these works, but in some other works that have been carried out in the neighborhood and that have been of great benefit to all, hoping that the works that remain pending will be concluded before the end of the administration.

Ada Colorina, who is part of the Paso Ancho neighborhood committee, mentioned that the project to make murals is with the aim of rescuing this space for the benefit of all, where she had the support of the Vallarta Institute of Culture with paint and stucco, to help the urban artists who will paint the murals.
