Municipal Government Provides School Supplies to Over 50,000 Vallarta Students

With the purpose of assisting parents who do not have money to spend on the purchase of supplies and backpacks for the next school year, starting this Tuesday the municipal government, through the Social Development department, will begin with the distribution of these supports in nearby 250 schools of basic education.

As of August 18, parents will be able to collect the supports directly at the educational facilities that correspond to them.

There will be 51,500 backpacks that will be delivered to the same number of students in preschool, primary, and secondary education, which include the supplies from the list issued by the Ministry of Public Education, explained Jorge Durán Topete, director of Social Development of the City Council. Supplies will vary according to grade level, but generally include such things as plain, lined, and quad paper, pencils, erasers, sharpener, colored pencils, scissors, glue stick, ruler, and geometry kits for the secundaria students.

He indicated that 12 different designs were handled for the backpacks that this year will be delivered to Vallarta students before classes start, either in person or online, contributing to the economy of families and ensuring that minors have the necessary tools to keep studying.

He specified that as of next Wednesday, August 18, parents will be able to go in a staggered manner to the corresponding school to collect the backpack with school supplies for their children. The director of each educational campus will be in charge of establishing the hours in which the parents will be summoned to deliver this support.
