Friday Forest Fire Report May 7

At the 11:00 am cutoff, there are 79 active forest fires located in 15 states of the country.

The National Forestry Commission (Conafor) reports the situation of forest fires in the country as of May 7 at 11:00 a.m., so that the public has the details of these events and knows the actions that the authorities carried out for its control and liquidation.

At the moment there are 79 active forest fires in 15 states of the country, with a preliminary affected area of ​​33,357.23 hectares. Likewise, there are a total of 15 fires settled, that is, they no longer represent a risk of spreading.

A total of 2,470 combatants are working to attend them, belonging to brigades of Conafor and other entities.

Seven forest fires are reported in six protected natural areas, one in the Natural Resources Protection Area CADNR 043 in the State of Nayarit, one in the municipalities of Mezquital and Durango in the state of Durango, one in the Sierra de Manantlán Biosphere Reserve in the municipality of Casimiro Castillo, one in the Bosque de la Primavera Flora and Fauna Protection Area in the municipality of Tala in Jalisco, one in the Nevado de Toluca Flora and Fauna Protection Area in the municipality of Zinacantepec in the State of Mexico, one in the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve in the municipality of Landa de Matamoros in Querétaro, and one in the Tulum National Park in the municipality of Tulum in Quintana Roo.

The aerial equipment that is operating in the country or in disposition are the following:

A state government helicopter operates for the fire in the Unnamed private property, in the municipality of Bustamante, Tamaulipas.

A state government helicopter operates In Jalisco, in the Ciudad Cajetes/Llano Grande fire, municipality of Tala.

In the state of Michoacán, a National Guard helicopter is available to attend to the fire in the Tarecuato/Cerro La Chuparrosa indigenous community.

Finally, in the Huertitas fire, a state government helicopter operates in the Río Verde municipality in San Luis Potosí.

The population is reminded that, to avoid a greater risk, the call is reiterated not to use fire in the forest and surrounding areas, since high temperatures, little precipitation and strong winds are forecast.
