In order to evaluate problems in the Northern Zone as a result of the clashes between organized crime groups in neighboring Zacatecas, Jalisco authorities and the National Guard held a working meeting.
Through a videoconference held Monday Jaliscan state officials met with the Commander of the Jalisco National Guard to review the recent events that occurred mainly near the border of Zacatecas and the municipality of Huejuquilla.
During the meeting it was agreed to adjust the presence of troops that the three levels of government have already had in the area for weeks, with specific actions that provide peace of mind to the civilian population of the region.
In collaboration with the authorities of the health sector, in order to meet the demands of the medical personnel in the area after the murder of two med students, the security corporations agreed to increase their presence along highway points of the municipalities of Colotlán, Bolaños, Villa Guerrero, Chimaltitán, Huejuquilla, and San Martín de Bolaños, where the clashes have occurred and the main problem lies.
Another of the agreements reached was to strengthen the joint actions that are implemented between entities of the state and the federation to increase the coordination and presence of troops from the Mexican Army, the National Guard, the Attorney General's Office, the Secretariat of State Security, and the State Prosecutor's Office.
In the coming days, a new meeting will be held to implement these agreements and to make the necessary adjustments, in addition to the establishment of a joint work agenda with the Zacatecas authorities.
