State Highways 401 and 449 Have Been Repaired and Reopened to Traffic

State highway 401 that goes from Sayula to Zapotlán el Grande, has been completely reopened to circulation since Monday, July 19, after the complementary works to fill some fissures with fluid mortar were completed.

These actions, aimed at fully guaranteeing the safety of users, required the closure  of the section that, on May 10, was affected by the appearance of a crack and a sinkhole caused by water runoff from a neighboring orchard.

After consolidating the highway and executing the construction of the rain management infrastructure necessary to contain the aforementioned runoff, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works and the State Civil Protection Unit of the Government of Jalisco determined the reopening of the road.

It should be noted that the monitoring of state highway 401 will be maintained 24 hours a day with the Sayula Municipal Civil Protection Unit in coordination with the State Unit.

Also repaired is the sinkhole on the road to Jilotlán de los Dolores. This sinkhole formed almost three weeks ago on state highway 449 that connects Jilotlán de los Dolores with Tecalitlán, and has already been completely repaired by the Government of Jalisco, and the road has been fully reopened to circulation since Saturday, July 17.

Civil Protection of the Government of Jalisco and the municipal authorities of Jilotlán de los Dolores maintained constant monitoring of the area, while the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works was in charge of reinforcing and expanding the drainage works adjacent to a stream that runs through it so that they now have twice the capacity to handle the water that flows mainly during the rainy season.

Two sections of pipes were placed in parallel with a length of 32 meters each, and reconstruction of the access and exit heads was completed with a ramp.
