The Institute of Statistical and Geographical Information of Jalisco (IIEG) presented the Monthly Economic Bulletin for the month of July.
The head of the IIEG, Augusto Valencia, highlighted that this product aims to inform the general public of the economic and financial statistics generated each month for the State of Jalisco.
Mireya Pasillas Torres, Director of Economic and Financial Statistical Information, who presented the results pointed out that the National Survey of Household Income and Expenditure 2020 shows that the average quarterly current income (monetary and non-monetary) per household in Jalisco was of 55,746 pesos in 2020, composed mainly of income from work, which is an average of 36,592 quarterly pesos.
In percentage terms, income from work represents 65.6% of total current income, transfers 16.9%, income from home rental estimates 11.0%, and property income 6.3%.
In Jalisco, households of the lowest income increased 5.0% over the last two years, while at the national level it did so by only 1.3%.
For its part, the average total monetary current expenditure per household is 35,220 pesos per quarter in Jalisco. Spending on food, beverages and tobacco is 13,375 pesos, spending on housing and services of 4,276 pesos, and transportation and communications of 6,600 pesos per quarter.
In percentage terms, the item of food, drink and tobacco represents 38.0% of current spending, followed by transportation and communications with 18.7%, housing and services with 12.1%, personal care with 8.4%, and education and recreation with 6.7%.
The quarterly section presents information from the Quarterly Indicator of State Economic Activity (ITAEE) for the first quarter of 2021. In this period it increased 0.27% compared to the same quarter of the previous year with original figures, and 2.19% with seasonally adjusted figures. The national variation decreased, registering a variation of -3.39% with original figures.
With original figures, economic activity grew in eight entities, placing Jalisco in the eighth position of entities with the highest increase. The rest of the entities registered negative variations, Quintana Roo being the one with the greatest fall with -16.56%.
Regarding the past-due portfolio of Infonavit, in Jalisco it increased to 10.98% of the total accounts in May 2021, 1.84 percentage points more than in May 2020. This percentage of accounts in past-due portfolios in Jalisco is the highest since they have held monthly records of this indicator.
The number of accounts that make up Infonavit's total portfolio in Jalisco in May 2021 is 464,872 accounts, representing a value of 125.732 billion pesos. The accounts in past due portfolio are 51,031 which represent a value of 18.123 billion pesos.
Regarding the monthly statistics on establishments with the Manufacturing Industry, Maquiladora, and Export Services Program (IMMEX), it indicates that establishments were located at 13.895 billion pesos during the month of May 2021, above the figure of May 2020, which was located at 8.924 billion pesos.
This represented an annual growth of 55.7%, an increase higher than that observed the previous year when there was an annual increase of 40.3%. In addition, the average of the last twelve months increased for the sixth consecutive month, going from 12,663 million to 13,078 million in the month of May 2021 compared to the immediately previous month.
Income from the foreign market obtained by non-manufacturing establishments in the IMMEX program in Jalisco reached 1.58 billion pesos during the month of May 2021, a figure higher than that of May 2020, which reached 1.189 billion pesos. This represented an annual growth of 32.9%, an increase lower than that observed the previous month when there was an annual increase in income of 35.9%. However, the average of the last twelve months increased for the thirteenth consecutive month, going from 1.32 billion to 1.353 billion in the month of May 2021 compared to the immediately previous month.
