SEMADET Grants Certificates to 24 Companies for Sustainable Practices

24 companies in the manufacturing, hotel, food, tequila, industrial, commerce, and services sectors were recognized.

The Ministry of Environment and Territorial Development (SEMADET,) publicly recognized the efforts of companies that manage to obtain their certificate within the Voluntary Environmental Compliance Program by applying sustainable practices within their activities. Through this certification scheme, the aim is to create a link between economic development and sustainability.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development (SEDECO,) the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Jalisco (SADER,) government agencies, chambers, and associations of industrialists and companies, have worked on a coordinated agenda to direct the productive sector towards a scheme of greater ambition to face environmental problems and generate sustainable development.

Earlier today, 24 certificates of environmental commitment were delivered to companies in the manufacturing, hotel, food, tequila, industrial, commercial and service sectors that have successfully completed their environmental compliance process during the years 2020 and 2021.

The PCAV is a voluntary self-regulation mechanism offered by SEMADET for companies of all walks of life that seek to comply with environmental legislation and implement best sustainability practices.

A certified company guarantees that it fully complies with its environmental obligations, not only with the authority that recognizes it, but also with the competent environmental authorities at the federal and municipal level. This coupled with carrying out actions beyond what is ordered by environmental regulations, in favor of a better environment.
