Economic Reactivation Going Strong in Jalisco

Economic Reactivation Going Strong in Jalisco

Jalisco has earned second national place for permanent employment, generating 68,915 new permanent jobs from January to July during the economic reactivation.

The generation of employment in the entity has been possible thanks to the implementation of long and medium-term economic development strategies and the Jalisco Plan for Economic Reactivation. During this period, the employment growth rate in Jalisco was 2.6 percent.

This has resulted in the recovery of 83,940 jobs in the state during the economic reactivation period, from August 2020 to July 2021, contributing 10.5% of the 795,971 jobs recovered nationwide during this period.

“We once again have excellent news for the economy of Jalisco. During the period of economic reactivation from August to July of this year, almost 84,000 new jobs, and this year from January to July we have generated almost 69,000 permanent jobs and this places us in the second national place in this aspect,” shared the head of the Secretary of Economic Development (SEDECO,) Ernesto Sánchez Proal.

"This is mainly due to the strategies that have been implemented by the government of Jalisco in terms of economic development, and also to the Jalisco Plan for economic recovery. We are working as a team with the companies of Jalisco, with the productive sector, so that through this collaboration, new companies arrive in Jalisco and those that are here recover more quickly, generating jobs and generating the growth of our Gross Domestic Product.”

During the month of July 2021, Jalisco registered a generation of 5,790 formal jobs, far exceeding the average generation for the month of July, which is 3,509 jobs.
