A few hours after giving the traditional Grito de Independencia, the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, led the ceremony of raising the Mexican flag in the Plaza de la Liberación.
This Historic Center of Guadalajara was part of the commemoration of the historical date of 200 years since the declaration of Independence of Mexico.
The raising act was carried out by elements of the Mexican Army, who placed the national ensign as high as it would go, and the National Anthem was interpreted to the rhythm of an orchestra of the military war band, in the presence of state, municipal, and military authorities.
Governor Enrique Alfaro reiterated to Jalisco residents and visitors who are in the city that they should not go to the Historic Center with the intention of participating in the traditional Cry of Independence, since due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the act will be completely virtual and it can be followed live on Jalisco TV, the official channel of the Government of Jalisco, and official social networks.
