Discussions Continue on the Financing of Political Parties in Jalisco

Yesterday a meeting was held with representatives of political parties registered in Jalisco in order to review proposals for adjusting the formulas for the allocation of public resources to political institutes.

At the meeting, which was headed by the Secretary General of the Government, Enrique Ibarra Pedroza, it was discussed that the allocation will take into account criteria of rationality and proportionality based on the votes obtained per party.

The positions of the representatives of the political parties were heard, who in the spirit of integrating a new proposal for the state funding allocation formula in Jalisco, presented their positions to the President of the Electoral and Citizen Participation Institute (IEPC) of Jalisco, Guillermo Amado Alcaraz Cross.

As part of the agreements, the president promised that the IEPC carry out a technical budget analysis that is based on the local distribution of funds, adhering to the principles of proportionality, to be presented at a future meeting with representatives of political parties.

In addition, an exercise would be held within the General Council with all the political forces represented there to assess all the scenarios and have more defined positions.

It should be noted that both the HAGAMOS and FUTURO parties presented proposals so that they could be discussed; for its part, the PRI will make one more proposal for its technical analysis.

In this way, the State Government, the Congress of Jalisco and the political forces will continue to promote dialogue between so that the agreements reached are the best and most beneficial for society and the institutes that represent them.
