Jalisco Installs the Institutional Coordination Technical Table

To reinforce access to justice for women, the Institutional Coordination Technical Table was installed in Jalisco.

It is chaired by Mtro. Enrique Ibarra Pedroza, Secretary General of the Government, and is made up of the National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women (CONAVIM,) the State Prosecutor's Office, the Secretariat for Substantive Equality between Women and Men, and the State Commission of Human Rights of the state of Jalisco.

The Technical Institutional Coordination Table is established as a mechanism for inter-institutional linkage in matters of protection, care, punishment, and eradication of violence against women, as well as for monitoring cases of women and girls who have been victims of violence to guarantee their access to justice and the effective restitution of their human rights.

“I am very pleased that we can concentrate the efforts of the different levels of government to guarantee comprehensive care and access to justice for women and girl victims, but also (for) survivors of violence, especially those who have had or  have experienced an episode of attempted femicide or attempted homicide,” shared the commissioner of CONAVIM, Fabiola Alanís Sámano.

With the installation in Jalisco, there are already 22 Institutional Coordination Technical Tables in the country that provide due care and follow-up to guarantee dignity and access to justice.

It is proposed to work based on specific strategies for the protection and comprehensive care of the immediate needs of women victims for the prevention, punishment, and eradication of gender violence, without losing sight of three essential pillars in this process: social crime prevention, security measures, and the guarantee of access to justice.

"I am very pleased that you can look at the commitment that exists from the Government of the State of Jalisco and from the other instances that also collaborate with us jointly... We have a concern and a very specific commitment to attend to a more strategic, more efficient, more comprehensive way of dealing with specific gender-based violence that directly affects the life and integrity of girls, young women, and women," Secretary Paola Lazo Corvera expressed.
