City of Montebello, California Donates 2 Fire Trucks to Jalisco

As part of the Jalisco Week held last week in Los Angeles, the city of Montebello donated two fire trucks to municipalities in Jalisco.

As part of the exchange and collaboration between the city of Montebello, Los Angeles, in California, and the state of Jalisco, who are in the process of generating a twinning between both territories, the Californian city donated two fire trucks, one to the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, and the other to the municipality of Degollado.

"For me, my father was from Jalisco. He is dear to my heart, but I appreciate the humanity and public safety and kindness. He has given himself to anyone regardless of the border or the city. So, for Jalisco and Montebello, it shouldn't matter. If you are Latin or American, you should be giving whatever you can, it is important," said Kimberly Cobos, mayor of Montebello.

The objective is public safety and that the Jalisco municipalities can arm themselves with high-level teams to help their fight against fire both inside and outside the cities.

"We are trying to make a sister city, as a partnership between the United States and Mexico. This is just a small piece as the beginning of a bigger partnership," Cobos added.

The trucks that were donated are the B56, with a 500 gallon capacity and a 1000 gpm pump, which will be used to fight forest fires; and the Telesquare, which will be for city use, with a 400 gallon capacity and a 750 gpm pump.
