Jalisco Women Benefit from “High Impact Entrepreneurs” Program

Jalisco Women Benefit from “High Impact Entrepreneurs” Program

The Secretariat of Substantive Equality between Women and Men (SISEMH), announced today the call to participate in the "High Impact Entrepreneurs" program.

The objective for 2021 is to promote equality in the business sector of Jalisco through the delivery of financial support to businesswomen and companies, for the development of projects that incorporate the gender perspective in their organizations, and protect the employment of women. The budget assigned for the call for High Impact Entrepreneurs this year is over 70 million pesos. The program expects to support between 270 and 1,350 beneficiaries, depending on the number of participants.

In 2109, 256 women employers were assisted by this program with financial support from 90,000 to 270,000 pesos, in its different modalities. By 2020, the program adapted its operating rules with the Reinicia program, targeting a population of businesswomen and benefiting 569 female employers, shared Valeria McMillan, Director of Capacity Development for Women.

“47% of women in Jalisco are employed, compared to 74% of men. Usually, we are faced with the reality that there is 1 woman for every 10 men in a managerial or decision-making position. Women, in this sense, have a complication that is mixed and combined with the labor complication; and it is the complication of social responsibility for care and domestic tasks,” stated owner Paola Lazo, while comparing the labor panorama between women and men in the state.

Through High Impact Entrepreneurs, SISEMH strengthens companies, whether they are individuals or legal entities that are established in Jalisco, and with a workforce of 6 to 100 employees. Financial support will allow them to develop a project that incorporates the gender perspective in their organizations, as well as in other needs of their company, or in the payment of social security of the employed persons, or in the payroll of the employed women, depending on the modality in which they participate.

The Undersecretary of Gender Equality, Alma Alvarez Villalobos, shared that “as long as we continue to have companies where there are no women with small children, as long as they do not have the spaces to be with them, to accompany them,… while there are no such spaces in companies, women will not fit in the industry in Jalisco,” He then invited companies from all productive activities to join and participate.

Modality 'A' is aimed at women entrepreneurs, or companies with 6 to 100 employees. In the case of being a legal entity, at least 50% of the capital stock must be made up of women. 60% of the financial support given must be used in the implementation of the project with a gender perspective, and 40% in other needs of the company.

Modality 'B' is aimed only at legal entities, and both men and women who have business economic activity and have between 6 and 100 employees can participate, without restrictions on the participation of the capital stock. 60% of the financial support should be used in the implementation of the project with a gender perspective, and 40% in the payment of social security for the employed persons, or the payroll of the employed women.

The call is open through July 10, 2021. To request more information, interested persons can contact the telephones (33) 20141268 and (33) 31600789, or through their email:
