Jalisco Exports Increase 30.6% During the Second Quarter of 2021

During the second quarter of 2021, Jalisco presents an increase of 30.6% in exports, compared to the same quarter of 2020.

The main exporting subsector is the manufacture of computer, communication, measurement equipment and other electronic equipment, components and accessories

The Government of Jalisco, through the Ministry of Economic Development (SEDECO,) has promoted programs and strategies that facilitate and encourage companies to generate and increase their sales in international markets, supporting them so that they can increase product export and job security.

Derived from these efforts, during the second quarter of the year, Jalisco companies exported $5,664,850,000 dollars, which represents an increase of 30.6% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

At the national level, exports for the second quarter were for $111,229,680,000 dollars, with Jalisco contributing 5.09% of the total during this period.

The export sector of Jalisco is very solid and of great importance for the economy of our state, shared the head of the Ministry of Economic Development (SEDECO) of Jalisco, Diedra González Free.

"This figure represents an increase of 30.6% compared to the same quarter of the previous year, very good news for our economy because it will be immediately generated in greater spillovers and job creation."

“The productive base of Jalisco is so rich that we export food from the countryside, processed foods, beverages such as tequila and raicilla, which are our pride of designations of origin; but also furniture, textiles, machinery, electronic equipment, highly specialized equipment, and above all, I would like to highlight mainly the subsector of computer equipment manufacturing, which we are leading in,” the secretary explained.

The manufacture of computer, communication, measurement equipment, other electronic equipment, components, and accessories is the main exporting subsector, with 52.2% of the entity's total exports in the second quarter of 2021, and is in third place by sales of this item nationwide.

It is followed by the subsector industry of beverages and tobacco, with 11.6%, and in third place is the subsector of the Plastic and rubber industry, with 9.9% of the total.

From the Ministry of Economic Development: We will continue working together with state companies in training programs so that more and more micro, small, and medium-sized companies are exporting their products to new markets, not only in Latin America, but also to other countries.
