Jalisco in Second National Place for Job Recovery

Thanks to the economic strategies to promote the growth of the state and the commitment of the businesses within, Jalisco realized another month of growth in the generation of formal employment.

This puts Jalisco in second place in the country due to the recovery of the sources of work that were lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the economic reactivation period began in August 2020, and through September 2021, Jalisco companies have recovered and generated 105,096 formal jobs. At the national level, 1,098,967 jobs have been recovered, so the entity has contributed 9.6% of the total employment generated in this period.

The transformation industries are those that have recovered the highest number of jobs with 39,233 jobs; it is followed by commerce with 27,654 jobs, the agricultural sector with 18,985 jobs, service industry with 10,163 jobs, transportation and communications with 6,665 jobs, and the construction industry with 2,611 jobs.

“Thanks to the commitment of our Jalisco companies that they have had to preserve and continue generating jobs, as well as the actions that the State Government has implemented, it is what has allowed this climate to exist that precisely contributes to the generation of new sources of work, and thanks to this today we can say that not only did all the formal jobs that were lost during the most critical months of the pandemic recovered in Jalisco... but also, now this September we are already entering a period generation with jobs," said Diedra González Free, head of the Ministry of Economic Development.

González Free also stressed that there is a climate of trust, that government works hand in hand with companies in all sectors, and that in this way the lines of action and linkage will continue to continue with positive indicators.

In the month of September alone, 9,756 formal jobs were generated in the state, a figure that is above the generation average, which is 8,350.

In the accumulation of 2021, Jalisco adds 67,364 jobs generated that place it in the third position at the national level, only below Nuevo León and Baja California.

In the entity it is recognized that the joint work of the Government with the companies and the unions, from the table of economic reactivation, has been a fundamental strategy that has allowed us to place Jalisco second in the nation for job recovery.
