The objective is to create a photographic record of the majestic trees and forest ecosystems of Mexico, as well as the actions for their preservation.
The National Forestry Commission (Conafor) and the civil organization Reforestamos México launch the 2021 edition of the National Photography Contest "Forestry Vision and Sentinels of Time." Women and men of Mexican nationality and residing in the Mexican Republic may participate.
The purpose of this contest is to encourage, promote, and spread the appreciation for majestic trees and forest ecosystems through photography, as well as to publicize actions and practices that promote sustainable forest development, the conservation of ecosystems, and their biodiversity.
For the second consecutive year, and as a precautionary measure due to the restrictions caused by the current COVID-19 pandemic, contestants are encouraged to search their memories and collections no more than five years old for pieces that they consider relevant and that comply with the requirements set out in the call.
The prize pool for the 2021 edition amounts to 535,000 pesos, which will be divided into three categories: Forest Actions, Forest Landscape, and Sentinels of Time; which in turn is divided into three modalities: Urban Tree, Rural Tree, and Wild Tree.
