Jalisco Offers Free Registration of Unregistered Birth Certificates Through Dec 15

The Government of Jalisco joins the national campaign "Regularization of the Civil Status" in support of Jalisco citizens who do not have registration with the General Archive of Civil Registry.

Through this campaign, citizens of any age who do not have an official registry, will be able to access the official registry in the state and the birth certificate that gives them identity for free.

The process can be carried out at the Civil Registry offices of the municipalities of Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque, Tlajomulco, Tonalá, and Puerto Vallarta. The requirements are variable, depending on the age of the applicant.

From 180 days of birth to 2 years, a certificate of nonexistence must be presented, proof of address, birth certificate; which in case of theft or loss, a copy certified by the Ministry of Health and the complaint to the Prosecutor's Office, as well as the birth or marriage certificates of the parents, and identifications of the parents.

Citizens who are between two and 18 years old will have to present proof of nonexistence, proof of address, birth certificate, as well as birth or marriage certificates of the parents and any certificates of studies or activity carried out, a testimonial statement made before the DIF or Municipal Civil Registry, and the official identifications of the parents.

In the case of people of legal age, proof of non-existence will be requested, proof of address, birth certificate, Baptismal certificate, birth and marriage certificates of parents, or birth of siblings, as well as the records of any studies, work, or activity performed, a testimonial statement rendered before the DIF or Municipal Civil Registry, and identification of parents.

It is important to mention that this procedure can be done completely free of charge until next December 15, 2021.

With these actions, the Government of Jalisco reaffirms its commitment to all citizens to have free registration with the state and access to documentation that gives identity and registration.
