Have A La Chingona Breakfast

Have A La Chingona Breakfast

Today we went to have a chignon breakfast at La Chignona.

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best not so popular cheap eats, mostly family-owned, restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place, or big place, to tell you about and review the food and prices.

A couple of days ago a social media friend, Brian, wanted to meet at La Chingona, because he said they have a really cheap breakfast, but sadly it was Wednesday, and La Chingona wasn’t open. So, we decided to have brunch at La Fabrica Del Hotcake, one of my favorites, and my dad and I enjoyed meeting with him. But, after that we still needed to visit La Chingona. My dad used to go there on weekends with his friends, and they would stay late at night eating dinner and drinking beers, so my dad knew the food was really good. And, of course, we had to try their breakfast. They are located on Lucerna 142 in Versalles, and their longitude latitude location is 20.634252479752853, -105.22874142540229.

La Chingona used to serve mainly fast food, such as hamburgers, fries, wings, etc. But now they have started offering a very filling and complete breakfast for only 89 pesos. The breakfast includes eggs of your choice, chilaquiles, refried beans, a couple pieces of fruit, a muffin or some other sweet bread, and includes coffee and/or freshly squeezed orange juice. Also, today they had arachera fajitas, which they offered us instead of eggs for the breakfast special.

Before we began eating, they brought us our coffee, as well as sugar and milk, though my dad had his black, and a huge chocolate muffin to share. Except it had chunks of chocolate or maybe chocolate chips in it, so it was much more like a brownie rather than a muffin, though it was in the shape of a muffin. It was very soft and light, and the chocolate chunks were creamy and rich. I’m not a big fan of chocolate, because normally it is sickeningly sweet, so I couldn’t finish my part of the muffin, though it was very yummy.

I asked for my eggs to be scrambled with hot dogs, and as they brought it to me my dad kept laughing. I kept asking him what, but he wouldn’t tell me! Finally, he said that of all things, I ordered hot dogs? I’ve lived in Mexico too long. But, even though my dad found it weird, they were really good. The eggs were perfectly cooked and seasoned, while still being soft, and the hot dogs were nice and warm. The chilaquiles were verde style, and the tortilla chips were all soft without being soggy, so it had the perfect amount of sauce, and the queso cotija on top gave them a nice little bit of saltiness. The beans were also really good and creamy. Everything on the plate was delicious, and the orange juice was so fresh you could taste the peel!! It was a delicious breakfast, and for around only 4.5 dollars!

My dad got the arachera fajitas instead of eggs, and although I didn’t taste them he said they were delicious. The meat was very very tender, and normally fajitas have a lot of onion, which makes them too sweet for my dad, but these barely had any onion, and instead had a variety of fresh bell peppers that were just warm instead of cooked. And the chilaquiles and beans were also very good to my dad, although he added a whole bunch of hot sauce to them.

La Chingona is a pretty big space, though not huge, and there’s both outdoor and indoor seating. Also, the bathroom is very clean and sanitary, as is the whole restaurant. It’s a nice place to come have breakfast, or lunch, or dinner, or to come and have drinks. Also, the chef is very flexible and often will make special requests, even if it’s not on the menu.
