The Delicious Beefy Flavor Of Barbacoa

The Delicious Beefy Flavor Of Barbacoa

Today we went to get some delicious barbacoa with a delicious beef flavor.

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best not so popular cheap eats, mostly family-owned, restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place, or big place, to tell you about and review the food and prices.

Today a couple friends, Dani and Sara, and I were going to go to Galex, which is something like an arcade, and of course we were going to stop some place to eat that we can write an article about. I couldn’t think of any off the top of my head, so I looked on Google Maps and found a little Barbacoa taco stand that had really good ratings and looked really good. The place is called Barbacoa Angeles and is located on Luis I. Rodríguez #501 in Vida Vallarta, and their latitude longitude location is 20.645082403939778, -105.21543545961082. They do free deliveries around the area, and it is possible that they can deliver to other areas for a small fee if they are not super busy that day.

Barbacoa Angeles serves tacos, quesitacos, quesadillas with or without meat, barbacoa meat, and barbacoa orders. Quesitacos are like quesadillas except they are the size of a taco, and you can get them soft, medium, or fried, just like tacos. Barbacoa orders are an either big or medium bowl of barbacoa consume with some big chunks of meat, tortillas, and cilantro, onion, and col. To drink, they have water(s) of the day or sodas. They actually were out of water for the day, but the man kindly made us all some lime-chia water with leftover limes and seeds they had, and very quickly also.

I got two fried barbacoa tacos, a consume, and a large water. The water was very refreshing and perfectly sugared and I’m very glad he was there to make it for us, since it was such a hot day and we were all so thirsty. The tacos themselves were very crunchy and crisp, yet they weren’t too hard or dry. The meat was super good and the flavor was very meat-y, not super seasoned, just good meat flavor, and I really appreciated that. I dipped them in the consume and that gave them extra flavor, as well as moistened them a little since they were a little dry after being fried. I also want to add that there was barely any grease on ay part of the taco, and even when I skimmed the surface of the consume with a spoon I picked up little to no grease.

Dani got two fried tacos, a consume, and a large water just like me, and Sara got 1 quesadilla with meat, a consume, and a small water. Dani said the tacos were hard but not too hard, and that the meat in them was really yummy. Sara said that the cheese was really melty, salty, and delicious, and that the meat was one of if not the best barbacoa meat she’s ever had, and she gets out a lot. Also, they both said that the water was super refreshing as well, and that they really enjoyed it.

My dad got a medium bowl of a barbacoa order, and as the woman was plating up the order my dad had to ask her to put at least half of the meat back, since it was sooo much and my dad wouldn’t be able to finish it. Also, they kept bringing my dad super thick tortillas after tortillas hot and fresh off the grill. They tasted homemade and they were really good. My dad says that the consume is like a broth you would receive for some really good rib eye at a fancy restaurant. The flavor is very good but beef-y and natural, it isn’t super seasoned or greasy like birria is. The consume is just plain beef broth from really good beef. Other than salt, pepper, and a little bit of garlic, the consume also has a little bit of dried avocado leaves in it, which most people probably wouldn’t even notice. I, for sure, didn’t notice, even after I was told that it had it in it, I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. My dad really appreciates and enjoys barbacoa’s natural flavor, and he says this is one of the best barbacoa places he’s been to.

Barbacoa Angeles is hard to categorize, because they have chairs and tables to sit at, and they aren’t a stand, but they also don’t quite count as a restaurant or fonda. But either way, it’s a little place with big flavor that’s super clean and totally worth a visit.
