Carla Piringer Wants to Share “How I Got Rid of Migraines”

I was out lunching around the other day when I met up with a sweet lady named Carla Piringer who was talking about her lifelong battle with migraines, and how she overcame them. I have an aunt who suffers from migraines, and it greatly affects her both socially and at work, so I was interested to hear what she had to say.

Carla says her problems started at the age of just two years old when she had a lot of bellyaches. Then, after a fall from a swing, things worsened and her pain increased. Her mother took her to the doctor, but they were told it was probably exhaust from the school bus or possibly food allergies were the cause of the problems. So from then on, anytime Carla felt sick whatever their last meal was became restricted, and she was not allowed to have some of her favorite foods.

But the symptoms did not go away, and when she was 13 she started getting terrible headaches. Finally at the age of 25 she was diagnosed with migraines and began to be prescribed medication.

However the medications were not sufficient to overcome Carla’s migraines, especially since she was working a stressful job. Sometimes they were so bad that her vision became impaired and she would walk into things, or she would just lie in a dark room clasping her head in her hands and crying. They would last for hours, or even days, and sometimes she couldn’t even eat because she would get sick.

So Carla decided to take charge of her own situation, communicate more with her doctors, learn more about causes and treatments, and follow her doctor’s suggestions more pertinently.

And she did. With the suggestions of her doctor, she changed her diet, adjusted her medications, and attended therapy, ridding herself of migraines.

Carla’s mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother also suffered from migraines. It is estimated that 66% of people that suffer from migraines are women.

Carla was approached by a publisher and asked to write a book on the subject, and in 2020 authored “How I Got Rid of Migraines.” The book goes into detail about how to cure migraines with diet, medication, and therapy, and teaches a new lifestyle for those suffering.

“The most important thing is to listen to your doctor, he is the coach. Update him on everything, don’t follow someone else’s plan because you are different,” stressed Carla.

Carla suggests drinking lots of water, 3-4 liters a day, and lightening your diet with lots of fresh food and avoid heavy, concentrated foods like sauces and fatty foods. At night try drinking a relaxing herbal tea like mint

You can reduce your stress with yoga, meditation, massage, acupuncture, or other therapies. After drinking water, exercise first thing in the morning before eating a light breakfast.

Avoid stress, lack of sleep, dehydration, and hunger, as these can trigger migraines.

Her book will tell you all about it. If you would like to contact Carla for any questions or to order a book, you can call her at +52 322 153 7360 or by e-mail or Facebook:
