Better Care of Body and Mind Can Help with Aging Process

Aging is a process that we cannot stop, however there are several recommendations to achieve in stride the NORMAL changes that our body and mind present with the passage of time.

This means we can feel and look better, and compare satisfactorily to the changes our contemporaries present.

Mental Health is the basis for aging well, since it will allow us to maintain adequate social relationships with our community, as it is fundamental to avoid SOCIAL ISOLATION that can later lead to Mental Depression. At this stage of life it is very important to always be in contact with people of all ages, go out, have fun, and always keep in constant interaction. Fortunately, there are currently several antidepressant medications that a knowledgeable physician can prescribe during the aging process, to remove the sometimes daily and unnecessary sadness that some older adults suffer.

Another important aspect is to stay active and keep the abdominal circumference less than 88 cm for women, and less than 102 cm for men. It is recommended NOT to exceed these figures, since the lower the amount of fat that surrounds the liver, stomach, intestines, kidneys and female genitalia, the lower the chance of chronic diseases or less difficulty in controlling them, such as Diabetes, Arterial Hypertension, some types of Cancer; such as the ovaries, colon and rectum, to name a few examples.

According to tastes, hobbies and physical condition, physical activity is necessary at least four times a week, with a minimum practice of 45 minutes. This will help to "keep abdominal fat at bay," and promote social networking.

To achieve healthy aging, it is also important to consume foods that prevent CHRONIC INFLAMMATION of cells that are in all parts of the body. Some examples of Inflammatory Foods are: SUGAR, some types of Vegetable Oil, Artificial Trans Fats, Processed Meats, Refined Flours, etc.

Just as there are foods that inflame cells, there are many non-inflammatory foods in nature as well. Fish, some seeds, fruits, vegetables and certain types of vegetable oils; upon entering the body exert a BALANCE at the cellular level, delaying, avoiding, or helping to control the chronic diseases already mentioned.

Therefore, it is a good idea to have the advice of a doctor who, as well as knowing the aging process, also has knowledge of Nutrition and carries out an analysis of the habitual diet of the individual, and can propose easy changes to make as necessary; respecting the cultural, economic, religious etc characteristics of the individual.

High on the list of recommendations are recreational activities, which help maintain the aforementioned mental and physical health.

Things such as hiking, fishing, dancing, traveling, learning another language, joining a reading club, falling in love; are all simple activities that can be very SPIRITUAL, and it does not matter in what an individual believes, the important thing is to believe!

Nowadays aging "lasts longer" than before, as is well known by all. Once the battle against multiple infectious diseases was won with the use of antibiotics and vaccines, people started living longer lives. It is essential to be able to count on a profitable economic activity. So I suggest, make use of all your knowledge and skills, it does not matter what they are, they can always be used to generate a monetary income.

SO, LET'S NOT STOP BELIEVING IN A HIGHER POWER, LET'S TRY TO KEEP AN ABDOMINAL CIRCUMFERENCE IN HEALTHY LIMITS, LET US EXERCISE, AND DO NOT STOP SOCIALIZING !!!
