Asian And Mexican Food Meet And We Got Mochi Cocina Asiatica

Today we went for delicious, and cheap for the quality sushi.

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best not so popular cheap eats, mostly family-owned, restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place, or big place, to tell you about and review the food and prices.

A couple days ago I got a friend request on Facebook from an Asian fusion restaurant, and something that really peeked my interest were the prices. Everything was decently priced, but it all looked super high quality. So, I sent a message to them, and after chatting a little bit with the owner, whom I didn’t know was the owner at the time, he offered to give anyone who reads this article and visits his restaurant a 10% discount just for mentioning it or my name. The place is called Mochi Cocina Asiatica, and is located on Tai 40 in Aramara, right across the street from Plaza Centrocity, and the latitude longitude location is 20.654718833255526, -105.23128694294023. They also do deliveries to most of PV, and they are registered on Uber Eats.

Mochi serves a large variety of things, some Asian, some Japanese, some Mexican, and some things are a fusion of flavors. They have sushi, soups, rice balls, salads, stir fries, Thai and Japanese ceviche, spring rolls; hot plates such as teriyaki chicken, chow mien, and grilled salmon or tuna; deserts including fried ice cream and cheese cake, and many different alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks that come in a small size or a liter size, plus quite a bit more! There’s actually 18 different sushi rolls and 26 different drinks, including beer and wine, so you can imagine how big the menu is, and how there are quite a lot of options for most things. But, the menu is very organized, easy to read, and simple, yet very pretty. Also, if you are vegan or vegetarian you can make a special request for a non-protein stir-fry or something, and they’d be more than happy to serve and accommodate you however needed.

I got a Takemi Especial roll, which was delicious! There were so many flavors in it, but it went together so well. On the inside, there was seaweed, cucumber, avocado, masago, shrimp, cream cheese, and eel, and then on the outside there was rice and white fish, and was deep fried to a crispy crunch, and on top of that was crab salad and sweet sauce. It’s hard to describe the taste of sushi, especially when there are so many flavors involved, but it really was delicious. Everything tasted very fresh, and the fish, shrimp, and eel were all soft and tender. What needed to be crisp was crisp, what needed to be creamy was creamy, what needed to be soft was soft, what needed to be savory was savory, and what needed to be sweet was sweet. In other words, the roll was perfect. There were no flaws to it, and I totally recommend that roll. It’s amazing!

My mom got an Eby Especial, which was just as good as mine, if not better!! On the inside it had seaweed, cucumber, avocado, and cream cheese, and on the outside it had rice, shrimp, spicy crab salad, breaded shrimp, sweet sauce, masago, and green onion. Most it, except for the chunk of breaded shrimp, was nice, soft, and creamy, but it was also really rich and super filling. It’s hard to find really filling sushi, but this restaurant and it’s food is amazing in this factor. Actually, it’s amazing in all factors. Mochi is a must go-to place for Sushi lovers, or just food lovers in general.

My dad got a paquete #1, which is only available on weekdays and includes a bowl of soup, a scoop of fried rice with vegetables and either chicken or beef, and a small sushi roll that’s either the California, the Filadelfia, or the Takemi roll, and for only 135 pesos! For that price, my dad expected a small bowl, a little pile of rice, and a couple pieces of sushi, but it turned out to be sooo much food! And it costs less than some of the rolls; but just from the soup my dad got full! And normally, he doesn’t get full that easily. The roll was a slightly smaller and skinnier version of their regular roll, and a much larger portion then we expected. The pile of rice was really big too, and had nice, big, well-seasoned pieces of chicken. The soup was a pretty large serving, just like the rest of the package, and all the vegetables were crisp and crunchy, yet not raw. Also, it was obvious the soup was freshly made, or the veggies would have been soggy or over-cooked.

Mochi is a large restaurant, and there are half a dozen tables outside, more or less, but then there’s an indoor area too, where there are a few more tables. Everything is very clean, including the bathroom. It’s not the biggest, but it is hygienic and sanitized. It’s all also quite pretty, and there are gorgeous pictures of food on the wall outside. Though, I do have to say that unless your specifically looking for it, it doesn’t stand out much at all when you’re driving by, but it is a shared area with El Doggo Norteño, and that is much more noticeable and obvious. Anyways, don’t forget to mention the article for your discount!
