While I was out with my dad having some lunch at Loncheria Juanita a guy walked in asking if the children from the school next door, Ameyali, had gone home yet. He said he was asking because he was handing out artistic summer school fliers, so I asked him about it and we started talking.
The program is held by Jam Session 581, a music school. This artistic program teaches voice, music, dance, and art. For the voice they have singing and theatre, which also kind of counts as acting. For music they teach guitar and other instruments, and also music appreciation. Dance is just what it sounds like, they teach you different types of dances and dance moves. And art is varied. They mostly teach painting, but they have other things as well.
The price for the summer program is 3000 pesos, but you don’t have to pay for it all at once. For example you can split it up into 1000 for three weeks. The program lasts a little less than 4 weeks, from 12 of July to 6 of August. The times are Monday-Friday from 9 am to 2 pm. It is located in EL Centro, on Calle Juarez #581. They have 3 closed classrooms as well as 2 big outdoor areas.
Anyone from the ages 7-13 years old can join. There will be different groups, one group will be ages 7-9, and the other is going to be 10-13. There will only be about 7 kids per group because the school wants to be completely Covid safe, keep the children safe, and try to remain social distanced.
