Enrique Alfaro Invests in the Future of Northern Jalisco

The Northern Zone of Jalisco will cease to be an economic desert, said the Governor of the state, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, when starting his work tour through the area.

While there he supervised road infrastructure works, sports units, the construction of the Justice Center for Women in Colotlán, and delivered social programs.

Since the beginning of this administration, Enrique Alfaro added, he enriched this region with projects for the growth and development of roads, tourism, sports infrastructure, education, health, agribusiness, and in-kind support with social programs.

“Here in Colotlán there is the production of chili. Right now we are going to supervise the work and we have the news that this area is being more productive than even the Yahualica area, where it is the denomination of origin of the chili. This land has all the potential to grow. The story that the North Zone was condemned to be an economic desert is going to change; we are going to transform it. And today those three projects that were a dream are already taking shape; they are already generating the first jobs. What we set out to produce here is already being produced and I think it will be a very important transformation element,” explained the Governor.

The work tour on the first day included a visit to San Cristóbal de la Barranca, Colotlán, Santa María de los Ángeles, Huejúcar and Huejuquilla el Alto.

The Justice Center for Women, which is being built in Colotlán with an investment of 21 million pesos, is an unprecedented policy of care that materializes after three years.

“The Justice Center for Women is a model that is anchored and that allows women in situations of violence to have absolutely all the services they require in a single space. What services are we talking about? Psychology services, social work, advocacy, counseling, but also here you can file your complaint and protection measures will be issued. Likewise, we are going to have spaces for their sons and daughters and a space for the Judiciary,” reported Malena García, Undersecretary for Women's Access to a Life Free of Violence.

In this municipality, the president provided social support to mothers who are heads of families, productive projects, people with disabilities, and the elderly.

He assisted with the Colotlense educational community and directors of the Niños Héroes Elementary School, where a complete remodeling of the campus is being carried out with an investment of 12 million pesos.

During his tour, the governor attended the fields of the Tajín company. All the agribusiness, mainly chili, sunflower, and berries, will generate 1,000 jobs for the region this year, the president reported.

Together with David Zamora, the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works, they supervised the works of the highway that will connect the Northern Region of Jalisco with the State of Aguascalientes, via the reedbed, with more than 133 million pesos invested and 45% progress in the works.

Prior to his arrival in Colotlán, the president inaugurated the rehabilitation works of the Sports Unit, in the municipal seat of San Cristóbal de la Barranca. The investment of 10 million pesos includes the reconstruction of a multipurpose area, a soccer field with synthetic grass, bleachers, tarps and more adaptations, and basic maintenance in paint and bathrooms.

"This was a place in poor condition, different from how we see it today. The truth is that it will always be a pleasure to see transformation processes of this depth in the basic infrastructure and that is what we are doing in the 125 municipalities of Jalisco, precisely renovating our health infrastructure, our sports infrastructure, municipal trails, municipal markets, and of course, sports venues. All these actions should be work undertaken in coordination with all levels of Government, but the municipalities of our State, as in all the country's municipalities, are in a truly lamentable budgetary condition," said Alfaro Ramírez.

Later, in the municipality of Santa María de los Ángeles, in the company of Mayor César Fortino Márquez Robles, the ribbon was cut at the facilities of the Fernando de la Torre Sánchez Sports Unit, now a worthy meeting point for society, Alfaro mentioned.

“We are providing an investment of 15 million pesos in this sports unit, and we immediately begin the preparation work to put in the 7 million that are needed for the playground and the professional field that we are going to bring with synthetic grass so that it does not consume water, so that it is an installation that lasts many years. Today we deliver the first stage of the unit,” said the municipal president, César Fortino Márquez Robles.

In the municipality of Huejúcar, more than 5 million pesos were invested in the comprehensive rehabilitation work of the first stage of the Paulino Navarro Primary School, which included improvement actions in the civic courtyard, cistern, sidewalks, didactic classroom, hydropneumatic room, bathrooms, cellar and even the flag. 14.61 million pesos were also invested in the completion of the work of the Municipal Health Center that included office areas, pharmacy, infirmary, hospital rooms, bathrooms, residence of the intern, gardens, sidewalks, parking, painting, signage, waterproofing, equipment, and general finishes.

Likewise, the Huejúcar-Achimec Ecotourism Trail used for recreational activities and exercise track for the inhabitants was delivered. With an amount of 21.69 million pesos in construction, this road consists of stamped concrete slabs, sidewalks, taps, lights and plumbing installations.

"I know he has a word and has kept it," said Mayor Araceli Díaz.

At the end of the day, Enrique Alfaro moved on to Huejuquilla el Alto, where he supervised the highway code 711, section Bolaños- Tenzompa- Huejuquilla el Alto, Paso del Oso - Huejuquilla el Alto, a priority for the region and reaching an advance of 60%.

In this municipality, the Governor had a meeting with the medical personnel to listen to the requests of the workers and thus give job security and security to those who live in this border area with Zacatecas.

“We have to create conditions of certainty, security and tranquility. I also insist on incentives because it is not the same to work in this region than to work in the city or in some place where there are larger cities. This is an issue that we have already discussed with the health team and it could be anticipated from the outset that the basification program will be applied as a priority here so that all personnel, regardless of their seniority, have the right to a base," he concluded.
