The deadline to participate in the call for the "Online Jalisco Cultural Festival" has been extended until June 9. Thus, the artists and creators who are part of the artistic groups of the Jalisco municipalities
will have one more week to present their proposals and be part of this meeting, which will be held in person and virtually, and which will serve to enjoy the results of the work carried out by the groups of the houses of culture in the interior of the state.
The call, promoted by the Headquarters of Municipal Development of the Ministry of Culture of Jalisco (SC), is aimed at the artistic groups of the 122 municipalities registered in the Fund Workshops for Houses of Culture 2021 of the SC, which may present a free theme proposal, in the disciplines of dance, music, theater, literature and plastic arts, in common agreement with the Municipal Culture Department.
Cristopher de Alba, Head of Municipal Development of the SC, points out that the festival, which will take place from July 1 to August 31, aims to “resume activities in the houses of culture in conjunction with teachers, workshops, students, and municipal and state authorities.” Therefore, he reiterated the invitation to all artists to "expose what you have rehearsed for a long time, it is the opportunity to show Jalisco what is done in the Casa de la Cultura workshops."
In addition, he recalled that there will be economic incentives for the first places in each category, as well as food and lodging expenses in the city of Guadalajara, an adequate space for their presentation, and the technical production elements necessary for the presentations.
The Jalisco Online Cultural Festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Jalisco through its Directorate of Planning, Linkage and Sector Development and the Municipal Development Headquarters, in collaboration with the State Fund for the Promotion of Culture and the Arts Trust, through the Sub-account: FOCULTA.
