First Session of the Committee of the State Search System for Missing Persons

First Session of the Committee of the State Search System for Missing Persons

Yesterday the first ordinary session of the Coordinating Committee of the State Search System for missing persons in the state of Jalisco was held.

Among the issues discussed in this session were the proposals for the creation of a State Search Program for Persons in the State of Jalisco, and a Human Identification Center stand out.

In addition, they spoke about how compliance with the transitory articles of the Missing Persons Law has progressed, and that the state and municipal training and certification process was approved to guarantee that the personnel involved in the actions of searching for people and investigating crimes can perform their duties diligently and efficiently.

Regarding the proposed programs, it is important to point out that the experiences and opinions of the relatives of the disappeared persons, and of the institutions that make up the Coordinating Committee of the System, will be taken into account in an essential way.

The Secretary of Planning and Citizen Participation and alternate to the President of the Coordinating Committee, Margarita Sierra, called on the members of this committee to collaborate fully with these works to provide a quick and effective response to the serious problem of the disappearance of people who suffer from the state.

“As advice, I ask you to collaborate, and I also comment that the parts of this program have been discussed with the groups and families. This systemic approach is unique in the country, and this proposal may be useful for other states.”

It should be noted that this committee has the obligation to issue the criteria and means of verification to guarantee that the personnel who participate in the search and investigation actions receive the training and, where appropriate, the necessary and adequate certification to carry out their tasks in an appropriate manner, with diligence and efficiency.

Therefore, the Coordinating Committee of the State Search System is in charge of not only approving the programs, but also ensuring the application of procedures and actions within the different institutions involved.
