Open Call for Mentors for the BASE Cultural Project Development Program

The BASE Program invites experts of cultural industries, with experience in training, research, consulting and project support, to participate as mentors and host workshops for the program.

The professional accompaniment program promoted by the Headquarters of Cultural Industries of the Ministry of Culture of Jalisco (SC), is aimed at cultural entrepreneurs related to any creative sector or artistic discipline, with the objective of accompanying their process when planning the economic sustainability of their long-term cultural projects.  The laboratory allows those who participate to organize their professional development and creative path, as well as to design and plan economically viable, innovative cultural projects that are committed to their community and environment. 

The program combines the accompaniment of a mentor with training made up of workshops, consultancies, talks and collaborative work and exchange between participants. It provides knowledge on political, economic, and legal aspects of the cultural sector, as well as tools for the development of skills and competences including digital, technical, bonding, and business development for the cultural sector. 

Those who wish to participate as a mentor and workshop leader must contemplate a work plan to be developed during the six months of the creative accompaniment program, from September to December 2021 and from January to April 2022, so that they generate their professional development plan for the medium and long term. Each mentor will be responsible for a project individually, and must give two workshops for participants as a group. 

Training and support proposals will be received focused on the cultural and creative sector, with current content that is sensitive to the context (social, environmental, economic,) proposing agile methodologies on: strategic planning, development of business models and entrepreneurship; indicators and evaluation of projects, digital transformation and innovation, administration, finances and fiscal aspects, fundraising, cultural marketing, among others. 

Those selected to mentor will receive incentives of 33,300 pesos each. The beneficiaries of the program must include in their application a proposal for social compensation that is an exercise in solidarity with the people in their immediate context, creativity being the basis, and without limitation of formats or channels.
