Delicious Tacos Guisados At Taqueria Chambery With Spicy Guacamole

Today we went to Taqueria Chamberry in Colonia Villa Las Flores.

Hello, again. My dad and I, and sometimes my mom comes along too, have been going out on the town to find some of the best hole in the wall, off the beaten path cheap eats restaurants that we can find. We go out almost every day, finding some new little place to tell you about and review the food and prices.

Today my dad and I were out by the Marina, and we decided to stop by one of our, if not the, favorite taco places over the years. It’s called Taqueria Chamberry, and it is located on Puerto De Las Rosas #115, kind of behind Budget Rent A Car, which is on Francisco Medina Ascencio, #141. It is marked as a business on Google Maps, but the location is a little off, it’s actually one door down than where it shows on the map. The latitude & longitude location is 20.675726568387393, -105.24939766528165. You can dine there, as there are lots of tables, or they also do deliveries in the nearby area. And you can always call to place an order for pick up.

Taqueria Chamberry serves tacos with a wide selection of different meats. They have birria, which is my favorite, machaca, which is a close second, chicharon, bistec a la Mexicana, carne dorada, chorizo with egg, and also nopales with egg, and frijoles with panela. They also have one that I don’t enjoy, chanfaina, which is mostly meat from various organs.  And, keep in mind that these tacos aren’t necessarily cheap, but they are delicious. Each taco cost 20 pesos, and compared to other taco places they are kinda expensive. But the flavor is worth it.

My dad got 3 carne dorada tacos and 1 chorizo taco, and I got 2 birria tacos. We also got a liter of horchata each.

My tacos were really good, and the meat was super tender. It was also full of flavor, and you could taste the spices and herbs that were put into the rich broth. The guacamole that they have on the tables is absolutely delicious!! My dad says it might be the best guacamole in PV. You don’t get the make-it-at-your-table show like the fancy beach restaurants, but it has amazing flavor, and that’s what counts. It also is made out of real avocados, unlike some “guacamoles” that are actually made of squash. You taste the richness of the avocados but it also has some spiciness to it, though not overly spicy. Even my mom, who doesn’t like things too spicy, really likes this guac.

The inside of the restaurant has many tables and a completely open kitchen, which I think is nice since you get to see the cooking in action.  There’s also a little tree in the middle of the place, which I really like. And as you can probably tell, all the pictures here in the article have a pink or red glow, but that’s because the roof is translucent red, which is actually kind of cool.
